Franciscan Monastery

We visited a Franciscan Monastery with a rich history in the area. While there we met a most interesting gentleman who was stationed aboard the USS INDIANAPOLIS CL-35 during WWII. He transferred off the ship just months before it was torpedoed at the end of the war and sunk. Many know or have heard of the history of USS INDIANAPOLIS and how many of the crew vanished by shark attacks while awaiting rescue. It was a most solemn and reflective moment of our tour.
